Arrival by Airplane
To reach Rishikesh, book your flight for Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and from there you can hire a domestic flight for Jolly airport at Dehradun which is 15 km from Rishikesh. You can hire a taxi from airport.
Alternatively you can also hire a private taxi from Delhi airport to Rishikesh, the cost of which could be around 80 dollar. The distance from the Delhi to Rishikesh by road is six hours but traffic, holidays and festivals can make the journey long but enjoyable.
Arrival by Bus
Bus services are also good from Delhi to Rishikesh. Though there are many bus services but it better to get on the Volvo bus. Check the bus timings as its last departure from Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) is 21:00 hours, so if you are landed in Delhi in the late evening, you have to spend a night in a Delhi hotel. At ISBT You can get the ticket and other details from the Uttarakhand State Booth. The ticket can cost somewhere between 300 or 400 Rs. You will enjoy the Volvo bus services as they are very comfortable. Once you have reached Rishikesh bus station, look for the auto rickshaw to take you to the Laxman Jhula Bridge.
